Tired of third-party apps ignoring you, draining your margins, or sending drivers you never asked for?

You’re not alone. Across Sioux Falls and beyond, restaurants and local shops are trying to unplug from the big apps – and running into ghost orders, outdated menus, and systems that make it confusing on purpose.

Dakota Dash helps local businesses regain control of their delivery presence.

Whether you just want the ghost orders to stop, or you’re ready to fully transition to a fair, local system, we’re here to help.

The Problem: "Quitting" the Big Apps Isn't Simple

For a lot of stores, leaving the big apps looks like this:

  • You tell them you’re done… and drivers keep showing up anyway

  • Your hours say “open” on their app even when your kitchen is dark

  • Old menu items, wrong prices, and wrong photos still show up

  • Customers blame you for mistakes the app made

  • Some services even create “ghost listings” without your clear consent

Meanwhile, you’re paying with:

  • Staff time explaining “we don’t use them anymore”

  • Wasted food that never should’ve been made

  • Bad reviews for orders you never accepted

  • 20–30% fees when you do stay on

It’s not just annoying. It’s predatory.

What Dakota Dash Does Differently

Dakota Dash isn’t “just another app.”
We were built specifically to fix this.

For stores, that means:

  • 0% commissions – keep your margins

  • No junk “service fees” – flat, honest pricing

  • Direct communication – no hiding behind bots

  • Local support – humans in South Dakota who understand your reality

And for businesses trying to leave the big apps, we go one step further:

We help you untangle their mess and regain control — safely, legally, and on your terms.

Free Guide - Simple Steps to Stop Ghost Orders

1. Set Your Hours to “Closed” Everywhere

On major delivery apps, make sure:

  • All days show as closed, not just reduced hours

  • “Holiday / temporary hours” don’t override your closure

  • Any “24/7” or “open late” flag is turned OFF

This helps stop ghost orders and late-night surprises.

2. Turn Off Auto-Accept & Paused Modes

Some apps continue to send orders even when you think you’re “paused.”

Where possible:

  • Turn OFF auto-accept

  • Disable “order stacking” features

  • Look for any “stay busy” or “keep orders coming” options and shut them down

If you’re leaving, you should never be automatically committed to new tickets.

3. Remove or Disable Your Menu

If the platform allows it:

  • Remove your menu items

  • Set all items to “unavailable”

  • Clear out old categories or special menus

No menu = nothing for customers to accidentally order.

4. Update Your Password & Enable Security

We’ve heard of scammers logging into old accounts and abusing them.

At minimum:

  • Change your password to something strong and unique

  • Turn on two-factor authentication (2FA) if they offer it

  • Make sure only a trusted manager has access

This protects you from unauthorized changes and weird activity.

5. Update Your Google Business Profile & Website

Tell customers directly where to find you:

  • Add a note: “We no longer partner with [Big App]. Please order directly or through Dakota Dash.”

  • Update any old delivery links on your website

  • Remove “order on [other app]” buttons or badges

This reduces confusion and shifts customers back into your control.

When You Want Real Help, We'll Be There

Some platforms make offboarding intentionally confusing.
If you want more than a DIY guide, Dakota Dash can help.

We can:

  • Walk you through closing or restricting your third-party accounts

  • Help you update hours, menus, and settings so drivers stop showing up

  • Help secure your account against unauthorized access

  • Help you communicate the change to your customers

  • Transition you into a 0% fee, local delivery model with Dakota Dash

You stay in control of your accounts.
We simply guide you through the maze.

We’re not here to “break” anything –
we’re here to make sure your business isn’t stuck in a system that no longer serves you.

Why This Matters

Every time a local business escapes a predatory app:

  • More money stays in the community

  • Staff spend less time arguing with confused drivers

  • Customers get clearer, more honest service

  • Drivers stop wasting time on dead-end orders

  • The grip of abusive platforms gets weaker

Dakota Dash was built to support drivers, stores, and customers – not investors.

Helping you exit the old system is part of that mission.

Is There a Cost?

We’re transparent about this too.

  • Our online guides and resources are free

  • If you want one-on-one help (call or in-person walkthrough), we may charge a simple flat fee or include it as part of your Dakota Dash onboarding

Either way, you’ll know the cost up front — no surprise bills, no hidden “support” charges.

Q: Do you contact DoorDash/Uber/other apps on our behalf?
A: In most cases, you remain the primary account holder. We help you understand settings, wording, and processes so you can close or limit your account correctly. Where appropriate, we can sit with you (or on a call) while you contact them.

Q: Is this legal?
A: Yes. You have every right to update, limit, or close your own accounts and protect your business from unwanted orders. We simply help you navigate confusing systems and settings.

Q: Do we have to switch to Dakota Dash to get help?
A: No — though we’d love to earn your trust. Our resources are available to any local business that wants to regain control. If you do choose to work with Dakota Dash, we’ll help make the transition as smooth as possible.
